Automatic Battery Monitoring System (ABMS)

The L-3 Maritime System’s Advanced Battery Monitoring System (ABMS) collects, processes, displays, and communicates battery system data for sealed or flooded batteries. Key parameters monitored include:

• Individual cell voltage
• Individual cell temperature
• Total battery voltage
• Total battery current
• Total battery charge amp-hours
• Total battery discharge amp-hours
• Battery compartment temperature
• Battery compartment flooding inputs
  

Everything needed to operate, monitor and maintain the ship’s battery system is available through a graphical user interface on a single screen. This includes information capture and display of the highest and lowest cells during each battery charge or discharge.

This ruggedized system is MILSPEC qualified and offers automated monitoring that prevents risk to sailors. The key driver of this system is safety.
