Based in San Diego, California, L-3 DP&CS provides solutions ranging from simple joysticks used for coordinated thruster control, to highly-sophisticated redundant DP systems, as well as fully-integrated systems combining DP, Thruster Control (TCS), Vessel Management (VMS) and Power Management (PMS). L-3 DP&CS' products are suitable for any marine platform - from luxury yachts to offshore drilling platforms to specialized naval applications. L-3 DP&CS has been a major provider of such systems for over twenty-five years and has hundreds of systems operating around the globe. Tony Gardiner
Vice President and General Manager
Tony Gardiner is the Vice President and General Manager of Dynamic Positioning & Control Systems, which was acquired by L-3 in May 2006 from Nautronix PLC. Mr. Gardiner began his career in the aviation industry as a calibration engineer in 1964 with the Bell and Howell Corporation, where he held several positions in that company moving into export selling. As a Regional Manager of Government Sales, he gained extensive sales and marketing experience throughout the world. In 1984, he moved into the marine industry to become president of several organizations in Texas and California. Mr. Gardiner joined Nautronix, now Dynamic Positioning & Control Systems, in 2000 and has led the company to become a major contender in the industry. Mr. Gardiner studied Pure and Applied Physics at Farnborough in England.
