Battery Chargers Assured DC power supply as reserve source of energy for radio installations not only on GMDSS ships requires serviceable batteries with reliable operating chargers. DEBEG battery chargers have been employed for many years for this purpose and are produced for a wide range of applications, as well as to meet special requirements. They are used underdemanding conditions on ships, in offshore and pipeline stations and operate in some cases under extreme environmental conditions, in high relative humidity and at ambient temperatures from –15 C to +55 C.
DEBEG 9217 The new automatic I/U charging unit DEBEG 9217 is designed for fully automatic trickle/float charging of lead-acid and NiCd batteries. It fulfills the applicable annexes of IMO´s COMSAR Circular 16 "Guidelines on the configuration of the reserve Source or Sources of Energy used to supply Radio Installations on GMDSS Ships" as well as VDE, DIN and GL regulations.
The DEBEG 9217 can be used as uninterruptible power supply (UPS) due to its charging capacity which is high enough to keep the radio battery charged as well as to supply a radio station with an MF/HF 250 W PEP transmitter in parallel. Technical Data • Mains input voltage: 230 V AC,single phase, 50/60Hz • Residual ripple at nom. charge current: 2.4% with battery connected • Power consumption at full load (1 ph) 1270 VA • Voltage and current indication LC display • Charging voltage: 24 VDC up to 29.8 VDC • Nom. charging current of 9217: 28 A • Failure alarm indications for low and high battery voltage at < 24 V and > 29,8 V respectively, charging unit, mains, battery temperature and battery room ventilation
DEBEG 9218 The new automatic I/U charging unit DEBEG 9218 is designed for fully automatic trickle/float charging of lead-acid and NiCd batteries. It fulfills the applicable annexes of IMO´s COMSAR Circular 16 "Guidelines on the configuration of the reserve Source or Sources of Energy used to supply Radio Installations on GMDSS Ships" as well as VDE, DIN and GL regulations.
With the DEBEG 9218 GMDSS stations with MF/HF radios of up to 600 W PEP RF power may be used in the parallel mode or is able to charge radio battery packs with a capacity for 6 hours emergency operation. Technical Data • Mains input voltage: 230 V AC,single phase, 50/60Hz • Residual ripple at nom. charge current: 2.4% with battery connected • Power consumption at full load (1 ph) 2200 VA • Voltage and current indication LC display • Charging voltage: 24 VDC up to 29.8 VDC • Failure alarm indications for low and high battery voltage at < 24 V and > 29,8 V respectively, charging unit, mains, battery temperature and battery room ventilation • Nom. charging current of 9218: 45 A
SAM 9009AC and SAM 9009DC19" slide-in units of 2 HU with fuse-breakers for AC and DC supply of main and duplication equipment. Provided with separate fuses for each power line the switchboards fulfill the requirements of IMO´s COMSAR Circular 16 and 32 for radio installations on GMDSS vessels as well as the installation requirements of most Classification Societies like DNV, GL, LR, etc. The SAM 9009DC is fitted with fuse breakers for 14 separated consumers and can be upgraded by further 2 fuse pairs and the SAM 9009AC provides 5 pairs of fuse breakers and can be upgraded with further 11 fuse pairs to fulfill special power supply needs of customers and flag states.
DEBEG 9501 Remote Power Supply Alarm UnitThe alarm panel supervises connected AC power supplies and chargers and indicates acoustically and visually their proper working as well as prop-outs of AC mains. Up to 10 different devices can be monitored in parallel.
DEBEG 9517 Power Alarm PanelThe power alarm panel supervises and indicates visually and acoustically the failure of:
The content of alarm messages presented on the LC display corresponds with labeling of the automatic circuit-breakers on switchboard DEBEG 9008. As a result, the electrical loads concerned can be unambiguously disconnected from the battery to prevent unnoticed discharging of the radio battery.
